The current stable of southpaw models has remained more or less unchanged for the past few years. However, Squier, unfortunately, seems to have been quietly discontinuing a number of their awesome southpaw models recently.
As a result, the Squier left handed range is currently the smallest it has been in probably a decade. This is a real shame to see as Squier had some of the best value-for-money guitars in the lefty market.
Unfortunately, if you’re after a left handed acoustic guitar you’re completely out of luck, as Squier doesn’t currently have any. The good news is that Fender does have some really great (and affordable) acoustic options!
Does Squier Make Left Handed Guitars?
Yes! At the time of writing Squier offers 5 different left handed guitars and basses. This is comprised of a selection of left handed Stratocasters and Telecasters, plus a single lefty Jazz bass model.

The Mini Strat is a roughly 3/4-sized guitar with a scale length of 22.75″. It would make the perfect starter electric for younger players, or would equally be at home on the road as a portable travel guitar.
Main features include a lightweight poplar body, maple neck, 20-fret Indian laurel fingerboard, and 3 single-coil pickups with a 5-way selector. It really is a proper scaled-down Strat – the only thing it lacks is a tremolo bridge!

The Classic Vibe Series are the cream of the crop when it comes to Squier’s left-handed models. In my opinion, these guitars are more than capable of going toe to toe with their bigger Fender brothers, which cost significantly more.
This is why I highly recommend them in the Newbie Guide. In terms of sheer value for money, the Classic Vibes are arguably the best left handed guitars around. In fact, I have two myself!
The left handed Squier Classic Vibe 50s Tele is based upon a typical Telecaster from the 1950s. Its beautiful pine body is clearly visible through the classic butterscotch blonde finish. A comfortable C-shaped maple neck is coupled with a 21-fret maple fingerboard.
Finally, dynamically responsive single coil pickups have been custom-designed to give that perfectly crisp and rich tone that only a Tele can produce.
Who is it for? If budget allows, this would be a killer first guitar for anyone. However, the Classic Vibe range tends to be purchased by guitarists moving on from their first instrument, or more experienced players looking for a solid backup guitar.

The left handed Squier Classic Vibe 70s Jazz Bass is a tribute to the J Basses Fender was putting out in the 1970s. In keeping with the vibe of that era, this new bass features period-correct headstock details, nickel-plated hardware, and a vintage-tinted gloss neck.

Are Squier Guitars Made By Fender?
Yes! Fender acquired the Squier brand back in 1965, but didn’t start producing guitars until 1982. Since then, Squier has been offering up more affordable versions of legendary Fender guitars and basses for beginners and those on a tighter budget.
