Wondering which left handed Strandberg guitars are available? Well, you’re in the right place!
Strandberg Guitars is based in Uppsala, Sweden and builds cutting-edge headless guitars for the modern guitarist. Their instantly recognizable innovative model designs feature cutting edge ergonomic neck profiles, lightweight construction, and multi-scale fretboards.
Sadly, Strandberg stopped production of left-handed instruments for quite a few years. However, this changed recently with the introduction of a couple of limited edition models in 2023. And now, the Swedish brand has also re-introduced a lefty Boden to their regular production line for 2024.
Does Strandberg Make Left Handed Guitars?
Yes! At the time of writing, there is currently one left handed Strandberg guitar model available – the Boden Standard NX 6 Tremolo. In addition, the brand introduced a limited edition lefty Boden NX 6T in 2023 that can still be found in select stores.

Strandberg Left Handed Boden NX 6T

The guitars were officially released in October 2023 and almost immediately sold out. However, Strandberg have produced subsequent runs to help satisfy the strong southpaw craving for these headless beauties.

What Is So Special About Strandberg Guitars?
A Strandberg tends to be somewhat of a Marmite guitar – you either love the design or you don’t. I feel that many people dismiss them instantly because they are too far removed from the traditional guitar designs most companies stick to.
However, if you happen across one in your local guitar store, do try it out and find out for yourself why these guitars make so much sense.
Here I am a few years ago with a particularly lovely Boden OS6 in red (unfortunately no longer available). I wish I had bought that thing while it was still available!
The fact is that the design process behind these space-age guitars is nothing short of phenomenal. Ola Strandberg has taken the traditional guitar blueprint and torn it apart to produce something that improves upon age-old designs in almost every way possible.
Unique Features
Let’s take a look at just a few of the features that make a Strandberg guitar so special.
Headless Design
Ever experienced your guitar headstock attempting to butt heads with the floor when wearing it with a strap? The headless design of a Strandberg ensures that this problem becomes a thing of the past.
By eliminating extra weight from the headstock, a Strandberg guitar is able to achieve very low weight while still retaining perfect balance. This results in a guitar that can be worn on stage with greater comfort for longer periods of time.
Not bothered about standing around on stage all night long? Even when sitting down, the ergonomically designed Strandberg body shape allows for multiple playing positions. The various carves in the lower half of the body allow the guitar to be held comfortably in almost any seated position.
EndurNeck Profile
But wait, there’s more! The innovations keep coming! Just take a look at Strandberg’s incredible EndurNeck design…
This outlandish-looking neck profile has been developed to help keep your hand in a more ergonomic playing position so that you can stay injury-free and also enjoy increased playing comfort.
Fanned Frets
Strandberg guitars also feature a multi-scale (or fanned fret) design.
The left handed Strandberg Boden NX 6 Tremolo features a 25″-25.5″ scale length. This means it has a 25″ scale length on the treble side and a slightly longer 25.5″ scale length on the bass end. This allows for tighter strings with improved tone on the bass side, and slinkier feeling strings on the treble side – the best of both worlds!
Check out my guide to guitar scale lengths for more information on multi-scale instruments.
These are just a handful of the innovative features you’ll find on a Strandberg guitar. Be sure to check out the Strandberg website (linked above) to find out more about what makes these guitars stand out.
