It’s that time of year again when the NAMM trade show usually opens its doors and all of the latest and greatest gear is announced!
Although NAMM 2021 will clearly not be happening due to Covid-19, that will certainly not stop the influx of brand new gear from going ahead!
It can be difficult to unearth the new NAMM left handed guitar releases amongst the sea of exciting new gear, so I’ve tried my best to list what I’ve noticed so far.
This article will be continuously updated as NAMM 2021 progresses, so keep checking back for the latest news!

ESP Left Handed NAMM Guitars
ESP has today announced their line-up of guitars which are new for 2021. The good news is that a decent number of them are available left handed – expect an updated guide soon! ESP are generally one of the more accommodating bigger brands when it comes to southpaws, so it’s great to see they’ve kept this going.
I’ve picked out a few choice guitars above, but there are many more at the link below. Left handed models are not listed yet, but you’ll notice a ‘Lefty Available’ icon to indicate left handed availability. You’ll find this icon below the summary paragraph on each guitar’s product page when available. Take a gander!

Martin D-35 David Gilmour Left Handed Acoustics
Martin has announced new limited edition David Gilmour artist series acoustics comprising a D-35 6-string and D-35 12-string, which will be available as left handed models. I am unsure how many lefties there will be, but only 250 of the full range will be produced, all hand-signed by David Gilmour himself.
“Martin is proud to offer the D-35 David Gilmour Custom Signature Edition. This guitar is a nod to David’s treasured D-35, his main recording & writing companion for over four decades, but is an instrument for him today, with a style and sound all its own. These signature models are the first D-35s ever made with neck, back and sides of sinker mahogany, chosen by David for its warm, rich tones and exquisitely beautiful grain. We added an Adirondack spruce Vintage Tone System top for an old-world sound and matched that with vintage gloss finish, Waverly Relic Nickel tuners and antique white binding. A unique neck shape & fingerboard pattern were crafted to David’s specification for this guitar, while a special headstamp features on the reverse of the headstock. The signature models are limited to 250 pieces and every label is hand-signed by David himself, ensuring this guitar’s place on every collector’s wish list. Through this partnership, Martin Guitar is proud to support the David Gilmour Charitable Foundation.“

Ibanez 2021 Range
Ibanez always go big at winter NAMM, and they certainly didn’t disappoint this year! They announced their entire new 2021 range which includes some tasty new left handed guitars, including a Prestige AZ model (shown above), an eye-catching Prestige RG, and several other new models. As always you can expect several ‘spot production’ models throughout the remainder of the year.
You can see them all in our recent article.
