BC Rich is one of the more distinctive guitar brands around today, thanks to their edgy and eye-catching designs aimed squarely at rock and metal players.

The company was founded in 1969 by the late Bernardo Chavez Rico. It remained a family-run business until the early 2000s when it was acquired by USA-based distribution company Hanser Music Group.

Does BC Rich Make Left Handed Guitars?

Yes! At the time of writing, there are 59 left-handed BC Rich guitars and basses available if you count all of the different finishes on offer. This number is comprised of 52 electric guitars and 7 basses.

BC Rich Left Handed Guitars

The information contained in this article is correct according to the UK distributor for the brand. I was unable to get a reply directly from BC Rich themselves.

You are almost certainly going to need to special order any of these guitars as stock seems to be very thin on the ground at the time of writing. The UK distributor did tell me that there had been some hold-ups at the factory.

For each guitar, I have shown a couple of example models, but keep in mind that for most of these, additional finish and bridge options are also available.

BC Rich Mockingbird Legacy Left Handed

The BC Rich Mockingbird Legacy is offered left handed as two different models – the ST with Floyd Rose, and the STQ with hardtail bridge.

Aside from the difference in bridge type, the two guitars are almost exactly the same.

The BC Rich Mockingbird Extreme is offered left handed as two different models – one with an Evertune bridge, and the other with a Floyd Rose.

An additional difference is that the Exotic models add a quilted or spalted maple top, as well as a matching headstock veneer.

You’ll win no prizes for guessing that these guitars are aimed squarely at those of you who love to tear it up and fire out lightning-fast licks and runs. An ultra-aggressive deep-cut gives unrivaled access to the upper frets.

Various finishes are available, as well as a number of different exotic wood top options. In addition, the Shredzilla comes in 6, 7, and even left handed 8-string variations.

BC Rich Shredzilla Z6 Prophecy Archtop

This final variation of the Shredzilla is the signature model from BC Rich artist Zoltan Bathory from Five Finger Deathpunch.

It offers up slightly different pickups from DiMarzio, and switches up the aesthetic by adding a birdseye maple fingerboard.
